Mama led a fulfilling and profoundly blessed life, as recounted by her daughter Grace Belvins Walker. She resided in the Vernon Town community. After she married Alton and later relocated there following her father's death. In 1944, she remarried and moved to Amite, Louisiana, returning to Vernon Town after the death of her second husband. Her final move was back to Amite after a fire destroyed her home, where she lived for thirty-seven years. Mama was a steadfast participant in family events, including gatherings, graduations, weddings, baptisms, and other milestones. She also supported her son-in-law, Dr. Percy Walker, the first Black veterinarian in Amite and the surrounding communities. She assisted him in his daily operations and other responsibilities.
Mourning her passing are her daughters, Grace B. Walker and Marjorie (Kozy) Barnes; her sister, Celestine Williams; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends..
